Booking

How do I check availability and book?

Use the Book page to see live availability and per-night prices for each apartment, pick your dates on the calendar, and we confirm your reservation. If you prefer, reach us via the Contact page.

Is it cheaper to book direct than through Booking.com or Airbnb?

Yes. Our website sells a direct-only rate about 8% below the public nightly price, and stays of two nights or more get a 15% length-of-stay discount that is not available on the OTAs — so booking direct is cheaper than Booking.com or Airbnb, even with their member discounts. Direct bookings also keep free cancellation until 14 days before arrival.

Which currency are prices in?

Prices are shown and charged in euros (EUR).

Is payment secure?

Yes. Payment is handled by our booking system through a secure card checkout (Visa/Mastercard) or PayPal — your card details never reach us. You receive confirmation by email.

What happens after I book?

You get a booking reference and a link to your own booking page, where you can pay securely and manage your stay. Before arrival we send your personal door code and arrival details.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes — cancellation is free up to 14 days before arrival, with a full refund. Within 14 days of arrival, bookings are non-refundable. You can cancel any time from your booking portal.

Do I have to pay when I book?

Your choice: pay securely right away, or reserve now and pay any time before arrival — we email you a secure payment link. For arrivals within two weeks, payment is taken at the time of booking.

Do longer stays cost less?

Yes — stays of 2 nights or more are discounted, and the exact saving is always shown live on the calendar and booking page. Note that some dates have a minimum stay of 2–3 nights.

Arrival & check-in

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Self check-in via lockbox is available 24 hours, so late arrivals are no problem.

How does self check-in work?

We send a personal door code before your arrival. Let yourself in any time — there is no front desk to wait for.

The apartments

How many people can each apartment sleep?

Krummi (1H) sleeps up to 2 (with a sofa-bed option); Lóa (2H), Kría (2V), and Ugla (3V) each sleep up to 4.

Is there WiFi / parking / a kitchen?

Yes — every apartment has free WiFi, free parking by the house, and a full kitchen, and there is a shared washer and dryer on the ground floor for all guests. There is no TV.

What is provided, and what should I bring?

Everything for a comfortable self-catering stay is provided: bath and hand towels, fresh bed linen, a starter of toilet paper and hand/dish soap, and a full kitchen (cooker, fridge, pots and pans, plates and cutlery). There is a shared washer and dryer on the ground floor with detergent provided, so you can wash clothes during your stay. Bring your own toiletries (shampoo and the like) and any groceries you want — there is a shop in Bolungarvík and a larger supermarket in Ísafjörður, 15 minutes away.

Is there a TV?

No TV — on purpose. You have mountain views, Wi-Fi, books, board games, and the Westfjords outside your window.

Are children welcome? Do you have a baby cot?

Very. Apartments 2H and 2V sleep four with room for kids, and 1H has a sofa bed for little ones on request. We have a baby travel cot we can set up for you — just let us know before arrival. There are board games, puzzles, a big back yard, and a swimming pool with a kids’ slide five minutes away.

Getting here

How do I get to Bolungarvík?

Fly to Ísafjörður and drive ~15 minutes through the Bolungarvíkurgöng tunnel, or drive the Westfjords from Keflavík/Reykjavík. Full directions are on the Before-you-arrive page.

How far is Ísafjörður?

About 15 minutes by car through the Bolungarvíkurgöng tunnel — restaurants, shops, the airport, and boat trips to Hornstrandir.

What should I know about winter travel?

Roads are ploughed but Westfjords weather changes fast. Check road.is before driving, allow extra time, and bring layers. Self check-in means a late, weather-delayed arrival is never a problem.
